Which courses
Every course here appears on Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Public Courses (2025-26) or GolfPass's Golfers' Choice list (2026). Both are public-access lists, so you can actually book a round. Private clubs are excluded — you can't stay-and-play a course you can't get on.
How locations are verified
A course only gets a page when two independent sources agree on where it is: our golf-course catalog (mapped course geometry) and the OpenStreetMap geocoder's golf-course feature, within 8 km. Courses where the sources disagree or can't be confirmed are left out rather than guessed. Distances are straight-line; drive times are estimates (straight-line distance × 1.3 at highway-mixed speeds), so check a map before you book a tight tee time.
Where to stay
For a multi-course trip we recommend basing yourself at the course that minimises total travel to every other course in the group. Hotel prices and availability come live from Booking.com for your dates.
